The Original Trilogy was the first three of many movies in the Star Wars Universe. Star Wars: A New Hope, the first movie in the loved franchise, was released in 1977. When it originally came out, it was just titled Star Wars since there were no thoughts of the franchise growing so big. In 1981, Star Wars changed to Star Wars: A New Hope for the films re-release. The popularity of the movie surprised many of the cast and crew especially film director, and creator of Star Wars, George Lucas. In the film we were introduced to Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill), Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), and many more characters that we see throughout the franchise.
